About UsOur Record MoleSafe is part of the MoleMap network of 40 melanoma screening centers located across the world. Over the last 5 years this network of clinics, utilizing MoleMap's advanced technology, has conducted more than 120,000 visits on 62,000 patients, imaged and diagnosed in excess of 1 million lesions, identifying close to 1,000 melanoma. MoleMap/MoleSafe is regarded as the largest tele-dermatology system in the world and our record of proven results has been recognised by many of the leading experts in this field. History MoleMap was originally formed in 1997 by a group of New Zealand dermatologists to provide a cost effective melanoma screening program using the latest in imaging technology combined with the expertise of dermatologists. The founders of MoleMap developed the company after observing that, despite continuing educational programs promoting sun protection, the number of deaths from melanoma each year was dramatically increasing. They recognized that melanomas were not always being discovered in routine skin checks because the doctors carrying out these checks did not always have the technology or skills to recognize melanomas, particularly at its early stage. Using the expertise of dermatologists, scientists, engineers and software developers, MoleMap developed a highly accurate skin imaging system for the early detection of melanoma. The imaging systems were used in New Zealand in stand alone clinics, or within an existing general practice, for recording moles and other skin lesions. These clinics are connected to a network of dermatologists via a secure virtual private network. These dermatologists receive the data and images and use sophisticated software tools for analysis, assessment and reporting. A central database provides reliable, secure and cost-effective services for storing and sharing of critical patient images and data. In February of 2007, a small group of physicians and investors traveled to Auckland, New Zealand to have a first hand look at the new technology unavailable in the United States at that time. In operation in New Zealand for ten years, this group experienced the technology first hand and as a result of their experience and discussions with the management team decided to make an investment and bring this technology to the United States. In January 2008, MoleSafe the corporation was officially formed. In May of 2008, it opened its first office in Millburn, New Jersey delivering to the public the MoleSafe procedure. MoleSafe is a joint venture between MoleMap New Zealand and a group of U.S. physicians. It is our hope that the full nationwide implementation of the MoleSafe program will in turn lead to a significant drop in the number of deaths caused by melanoma. MoleSafe is at the forefront of delivering a melanoma early detection program that is effective and affordable, using proven technology in conjunction with the experts in skin cancer – dermatologists.
